Generator Power Donates 60Kva Towable to CRUK Relay Event

Generator Power has repeatedly supported the Relay for life, Jarrow with Managing Director, Steve Cardwell, donating a 60Kva towable generator to power the entertainment and festivities in support of Cancer Research UK. The event is held at Monkton Stadium, Dene Terrace, Jarrow on 15th July every year.

It is important that we all work together in raising funds and supporting further development of technologies, treatments and care in the hopes that our loved ones can live longer, healthier lives without another thought of cancer.

Relay for Life Jarrow

The Relay for Life Jarrow, is a 24-hour festival used to celebrate the power of fundraising in the fight to beat cancer and to honour those who have been affected by the disease. The relay itself is a 24-hour event in which teams take turns to walk the length of Monkton Stadium’s 8-lane, 400 metre outdoor running track.

The event featured an entertainment stage with music and activities which we provided power for. Later in the day, a Candle of Hope ceremony was held to honour every life touched by Cancer. Anyone can participate in this ceremony, dedicating a candle to someone who is no longer with us, a friend or family member that is currently fighting their fight or as a cancer survivor.

Following 15th July, the event raised a total of £83,520.

The relay for life Jarrow was held yet again to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. The event was held on Monday 15th July 2024 and was targeted to raise £70,000. We once again donated one of our 60Kva towable generators to the event which powered the mobile stage and all electronics used.

All of us at Generator Power are thrilled to see that the fundraising efforts in Jarrow have yet again exceeded their original target and as of 18th July, £117,968 have been raised for Cancer Research UK.

What is a 60kva Towable Generator?

If you aren’t familiar with generators, a 60Kva towable generator is one of the smaller units in the Generator Power fleet. This unit is small enough to be towed by our 4×4 vehicles, allowing us to provide ‘portable energy to sites quickly.

60Kva generators are perfect for powering small events that require multiple devices or equipment and don’t take up too much room. The size of this generator unit allows us to get it pretty much anywhere and allows us to hide it out of site if required.
