As you might have gathered by now, we like to do our bit for good causes. So when we heard about the Yorkshire Rose Challenge we jumped at the chance to offer our support for this worthy event.
If we can help admirable causes in any way we only too glad to assist and this challenge was one contest we simply couldn’t ignore.
What exactly is the Yorkshire Rose Challenge?
The Yorkshire Rose Challenge is an annual event open to scouts from the whole of the South Yorkshire region. It pits teams of between 4 and 6 scouts against each other in a host of activities and covers a whole weekend of challenging activities.
Over the course of a weekend teams of scouts put their knowledge, navigation and team work skills to the test, it’s demanding but tons of fun too. We’ll be providing a couple of generators free of charge to support this popular event this year, woggles at the ready it should be one to watch out for this summer.
When and where is the challenge taking place?
This year the Yorkshire Rose challenge takes place over the weekend of Friday 6th June to Sunday 8th June and the location is Wentworth Woodhouse, a stately home based in Rotherham. The backdrop is beautiful, the activities are non-stop and the scouts can pitch their tents and camp out on the majestic lawns right in front of the mansion!
It’s unusual to see so much canvas pitched in front of such a majestic property but that kind of adds to the appeal. Preparations are firmly in place as we speak and the Yorkshire Rose Challenge is looking for volunteers to help run the event right now – do you think you could help the event organisers at all?
We’ll be doing our bit providing Atlas generators for the duration of the weekend so there’ll be plenty of power to support the scouts as they ‘ging gang goolie’ around the campfire.
