We’re proud to once again be supporting two fantastic charity events in Cumbria: the Saddleback Fred Whitton Challenge and the Walking With The Wounded Cumbrian Challenge.
The Fred Whitton Challenge
The Saddleback Fred Whitton Challenge is a cycling challenge that spans 113 miles, starting and ending at Grasmere Sports Field.
Held each year in memory of Fred Whitton, an active and respected member of the Lakes Road Club, the challenge’s main purpose is to bring together cyclists from across the North West (and the UK as a whole) to raise money for Macmillan, the Air Ambulance and Mountain Rescue.
The Fred Whitton Challenge will take place on 13 May 2018 and for the third year running, we will be supporting the event by donating one of our generators, free of charge, to power the event.
If you’d like to join us in supporting the Fred Whitton Challenge, visit their website to find out how you can get involved.
Walking With The Wounded
Walking With The Wounded provide support for vulnerable veterans and help them to integrate back into society and sustain their independence through building careers outside of the military.
The Cumbrian Challenge, WWTW’s annual flagship fundraising event, will be held on 18 – 19 May 2018 and consists of a choice of three walking routes in the fells above Grasmere: Peak (15km), Tough (23km) and Tougher (30km).
Again, 2018 will be the third year in a row that Generator Power are supporting the Cumbrian Challenge by supplying one of our generators free of charge.
However, this year we will be going one step further.
Our team, consisting of Simon Ferguson, Sales Director, James Hawksworth and Ryan Griffiths, Sales Engineers, and Mark Jackson, Service Manager will be competing in the Cumbrian Challenge to raise money for Walking With The Wounded.
To help us reach our fundraising goal and show your support for the valuable work that Walking With The Wounded do, please sponsor us by donating to our JustGiving page.
